Year-round:
Wednesday to Saturday: 1 - 5 pm 

Closed Good Friday, Canada Day (July 1) and
Christmas Day through New Year’s Day.

Guests are welcome to wander through the
gardens at any time.

Bicentennial 1812 Exhibit: Noose, Knife and Fire: The Bloody Assize


Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum

"You are to be drawn on Hurdles to place of execution, hanged by the neck but not until dead, cut down while alive and your entrails taken out and burnt before your faces, your heads cut off, bodies divided into four quarters, heads and quarters to be at the King's disposal." This exhibit explores Ancaster's experience during the War of 1812, highlighting the Bloody Assize. Against the backdrop of the re-created courtroom of the former Union Hotel, view giant paintings of the prosecutors and accused, explore the evidence and judge for yourself. Discover the impact of the war on local farmers and residents, amidst the surroundings of an 1812 barn interior.

War of 1812 Bicentennial Performance

Enjoy free admission to Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum, featuring the exhibition, "Noose, Knife and Fire: The Bloody Assize", between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm. This exhibit explores Ancaster's experience during the War of 1812 , highlighting "The Bloody Assize. Stay for a special evening of musical and artistic talent featuring a performance by The Corps of Drums of the Royal Anglian Regiment from England, and other performing groups representative of the Native and Black-Canadian contributions to the War of 1812. Please bring your own lawn chair or blanket.

Movie Under the Stars

Music at Fieldcote and Hamilton All Star Jazz Band proudly present three All Star jazz ensembles and the Vocal Jazz Group in concert at the Fieldcote Band Shell. Ancaster Heritage Days: Mr. Ancaster's Magical Mystery Bus Tour and Tea: Ancaster Farms and the War of 1812

Join Mr. Ancaster - Jim Green, Winner of the 2010 T. Melville Bailey Heritage Award - on a historical mystery bus tour of Ancaster farms. Tour will include discussion of the impact of the War of 1812 and free admission to Fieldcote's Noose, Knife and Fire The Bloody Assize exhibition. The tour will be followed by tea and sweets at the Ancaster Old Town Hall. The bus leaves from the Old Town Hall parking lot, 310 Wilson Street.

Teen Quilt Academy

Celebrating its 16th year, this week-long event is suitable for youth 10 years of age and up. Adults are also welcome. Participants will finish a twin-sized quilt to which will be quilted later. The camp fosters sewing and fibre arts. Sewing machine in working order is required. Limited number of teens accepted.
