This exhibit explores Ancaster's experience during the War of 1812, highlighting the Bloody Assize. Against the backdrop of the re-created courtroom of the former Union Hotel, view giant paintings of the prosecutors and accused, explore the evidence and judge for yourself. Discover the impact of the war on local farmers and residents, amidst the surroundings of an 1812 barn interior. Ancaster Heritage Days: Mr. Ancaster's Magical Mystery Bus Tour and Tea: Ancaster Farms and the War of 1812 Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum Join Mr. Ancaster - Jim Green, Winner of the 2010 T. Melville Bailey Heritage Award - on a historical mystery bus tour of Ancaster farms. Tour will include discussion of the impact of the War of 1812 and free admission to Fieldcote's Noose, Knife and Fire The Bloody Assize exhibition. The tour will be followed by tea and sweets at the Ancaster Old Town Hall. The bus leaves from the Old Town Hall parking lot, 310 Wilson Street. Teen Quilt Academy Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum Celebrating its 16th year, this week-long event is suitable for youth 10 years of age and up. Adults are also welcome. Participants will finish a twin-sized quilt to which will be quilted later. The camp fosters sewing and fibre arts. Sewing machine in working order is required. Limited number of teens accepted.
