Mini Maker Faire

Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology

Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology is thrilled to be hosting its first Maker Faire. The local event is part of a global movement, celebrating makers and the things they make.

Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these "makers" come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.

Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. The event will feature innovation and experimentation across the spectrum of science, engineering, art, performance and craft. It's a venue for makers to show examples of their work and interact with others about it.

Families can also enjoy a range of programming including: the popular Steam train rides, running on tracks on the museum grounds, boats and a boat craft for kids presented by the Confederation of Marine Modellers, and the Hamilton Model Engineers demonstrating models.
Food trucks and vendors will also be on site.
Parking will be available on and off-site with shuttles to the museum available from a nearby parking location (700 Woodward Avenue).
